John Miller, Executive Chef of the Balboa Yacht Club has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in culinary arts.

Mr. Miller has delighted the palettes of diners for more than 25 years, and for over ten years has served as an executive chef. In his career, he has worked with some of the most renowned chefs across the United States and has spent the majority of his career in the private club. Mr. Miller stands out in his field due to his steadfast belief in serving good, fresh and local California cuisine to all of the members and guests at any of the properties he has honed his craft at. In recognition of his culinary skills, he has received the Best Chef America Award for the Orange County Region from Best Chef America in 2014 and was a winner of 2014’s Orange County Chili Brewfest.

In addition to Mr. Miller’s abilities, he holds a ServSafe Allergens Certification and is a ServSafe manager. In 1999, he earned an AOS in culinary arts from California Culinary Academy. Furthermore, he maintains affiliation with the American Culinary Federation. He was drawn to the field by his older brother who worked in the industry. Mr. Miller would visit his brother in the kitchen and at the same time learned from the sous-chefs. It was during this time that he fell in love with cooking. Looking toward the future, Mr. Miller endeavors to continue cooking for as long as he can and continue to help out shelters. He is also interested in opening his own restaurant if the right opportunity comes his way.
