Darlene Adamson Henderson, PhD, Owner and Consultant of Heritage Institute Inc., JICBS Educational Services Inc. and Henderson Homes Investments Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic enhancement.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, Dr. Henderson pursued the field of education to make a difference in the lives of children. In her latest endeavor, the JICBS Educational Services Inc., she utilizes the skills and experience she has garnered throughout the years to host annual conferences that equip, empower, and encourage women, men, and teens in the area of Christian education. In the coming years, she is looking forward to branching out with her own products in stores all over the country. Dr. Henderson has also been the founder and is the CEO Emeritus of the Higher Institute of Arts and Technology since 2016 and the owner as well as a consultant of the Heritage Institute Inc. since 2009.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Henderson worked as a computer operator and scheduler for L&T Sargent & Lundy between 1979 to 1985, as an educator and computer manager with Gary Community School Corp. from 1985 to 1997, as a manager with the Aloe International Royal Family from 1989 to 1999 and as an administrator for Baber Child Facility from 2003 to 2005. In her own academic pursuits, Dr. Henderson first earned a Bachelor of Science in organizational management from Calumet College of St. Joseph, a Master of Education from Cambridge College, and most recently, in 2006 a doctorate in theology from the G.M.O.R. Theological Seminary. Through her work, Dr. Henderson has received many accolades, including being recognized with the Leadership Northwest Indiana Class 131 and being ordained as an elder with the Ministerial Council with the National Association for Female Executives. Furthermore, she serves as a committee member of the Interfaith Clergy Council.
