Having always had an aptitude for computer-based technology, Mr. Sowers has served as the owner, operator, and founder of Sheridan PC Doctor in Sheridan, Wyoming since 2015. Consisting of making house calls to those dealing with technological issues, Mr. Sowers finds helping and teaching people how to go about troubleshooting their functionality problems to be the most rewarding part of his work. In addition to his profession, Mr. Sowers was a board member of the Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange in 2018 and 2019, a church relations team member for Operations Christmas Child in 2016, and a bible teacher at Sheppards Gate from 2009 to 2012. Mr. Sowers holds a Bachelor of Science in financial accounting and project management. He is also certified in computer security by xMIT, in marketing by the UBC Sauder School of Business, and also in theological studies by the Master College and Seminary.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Sowers spent 15 years in capital accounting and 20 years in information technology in positions varying from detail analyst to project manager. From 1979 to 2014, Mr. Sowers served as an information technology analyst and expert for the Pacific Gas and Electric Company in San Francisco, where he is remembered for leading multibillion-dollar capital asset bankruptcy projects, including saving the company $186 million on a data center project. For his exceptional dedication to his role, Mr. Sowers was the recipient of a Trailblazer Award for “outstanding innovation by an individual” and Team Award for “saving the company $66M by decreasing Construction Work in Progress funds (borrowed funds) on projects Accumulated Funds Used During Construction.” He was also honored with a Wall of Fame Award for “saving the division over $25M for one enhancement to an existing accounting procedure across department lines throughout California.” He attributes the success of his career to his education and his dedication to striving for excellence.
