Throughout her entire life and career, Ms. Vasquez was always the type of person who dedicated her time to helping others. For the past eight years, she has served as the owner and director of the School of Wonder, a childhood learning center in Laredo, Texas, offering early childhood classes, preschool classes, kindergarten classes, and more. Originally owned and operated by her mother, Ms. Vasquez has been involved with the school since 2003 and is backed by 17 years of teaching experience. Taking over the school has been Ms. Vasquez’s career highlight and she is exceptionally proud of her ability to quickly learn and adapt to a completely different setting and business. Additionally, she has served as a criminal justice at-risk counselor to children between the ages of 7 to 17.

Ms. Vasquez received a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M International University in 1993 and continued postgraduate study at Sam Houston State University. A Certified Death Investigator and Certified Crime Stopper, Ms. Vasquez attributes her success to a great team effort and passion for early childhood development. Notably, she has been the recipient of the Reader’s Choice Award from the Laredo Morning Times in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. She was nominated as a Top Woman in Business in Laredo in 2019. The School of Wonder has been voted a number one learning center, and Ms. Vasquez was named an honorary member of the year for Criminal Justice. In five years’ time, Ms. Vasquez hopes to continue operating the School of Wonder and delivering the same type of energy and excitement that she does each day. Her advice to those aspiring to work in education, or those planning to spearhead their own business, is to be properly educated and trained, and have a strong drive.
