Bob Veder, Owner at Class Menagerie, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in entrepreneurship and writing.
The owner of the antique shop Class Menagerie in Bolton Landing, New York, since 1969, Mr. Veder is a full-time antiques dealer, specializing in original World War I and World War II posters, as well as Wild West posers, early country store advertisement papers, airliner and railroad figurines, carousel figures, ship figureheads, tin signs and trays, among other items. Drawing from his background with the United States Navy and college education, he has also leveraged his passion for English language and literature to propel himself forward in the advertising industry. A retired copywriter, he formerly spent 35 years in the advertising business, where he received several accolades for copywriting, print and television.
Additionally, Mr. Veder is the author of the book “Playing with Fire” from 1983, which tells the story of an arsonist who sets the town of Fallsview ablaze, leaving the town’s citizens terrified and suspicious of their friends and neighbors. He has also been published in several literary magazines, authored 22 short stories, and currently desires to release 20 unpublished novels that he has worked on over the course of his career.
Mr. Veder attributes his success to his faith in God, as well as his mentor when he was in the advertising industry. His creative director, Larry Plaper, provided him with a sense of direction and taught him how to write excellent advertising content. Subsequently, Mr. Veder utilized these skills and applied them to his own, independent writing career. He advises the next generation of writers and professionals to set aside their ego and be considerate of those around them.
A native of Washington Heights, New York, Mr. Veder was born on May 6, 1940 to parents Mary Hyman and Morris Veder. Married to his wife Tina Christiani for several years, he has four children: Shawn, Ryan, Rivka and David. He also has four grandchildren: Bunsie, Benji, Brittany and Danny. He currently resides in Bolton Landing.
