Billy C. Foster, LCSW, Owner and Executive Director at Another Chance Enterprise, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social work.
Each year for Christmas, the young Mr. Foster would get a chemistry set, as he dreamed of one day becoming a real chemist. However, during his college years, he found difficulty in calculus and decided he did not want to pursue a field he would struggle with as a professional. Soon enough, Mr. Foster found social work and he earned a Bachelor of Science in social work and a Master of Science in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1978. He commenced his career as a college educator and since 2006, he has served as the owner and executive director of Another Chance Enterprise, offering personal care attendant services to local residents. In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavor, Mr. Foster is also a teacher at the University of Louisiana.
Throughout his exceptional career, Mr. Foster has been a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Social Work, as well as an Alumni of the Year Award and a 7 Humanitarian of the Year Award. As a licensed clinical social worker, one of Mr. Foster’s career highlights was working with the Project Respect Program, which worked with kids from less fortunate communities who dropped out of school. A few months ago, Mr. Foster ran into one of the kids he worked with and was ecstatic to discover he is now a notable manager at a prestigious company. In addition to the Project Respect Program, in his career, Mr. Foster has also devoted time to Youth Worth It, The Extra Mile and the Fourth District Judicial Board. In five years, he hopes to be settled into retirement and simply enjoying life with his family.
