Georgianne Bowman, Historian at the Village of North Collins, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in history.
With more than five decades of professional experience to her credit, Ms. Bowman has found success as a historian for the Town of North Collins since 2001 and the Village of North Collins since 2003. Prior to her current endeavors, she worked as a local newspaper reporter with H&K Publication for 25 years. In the past, she held an executive position with Baillie Lumber Co., Inc. and was a secretary for Clarke & Rapuana.
A respected historian and author, Ms. Bowman’s published works include “Around North Collins,” and “Centennial of the Village of North Collins.” An active member of the Civil War Preservation Trust, she also maintains affiliation with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Association for State and Local History, Association of Public Historians of New York State and Government Appointed Historians of Western New York.
For her many accomplishments in the field, Ms. Bowman was the recipient of numerous honors and accolades. Some of these include the APHNYS Registered Historian Award, the Catherine Aungst Parent Volunteer of the Year Award, the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and the School-Parent Service Award from the National Catholic Education Association. Likewise, she has featured in various editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women as well. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, needlework and computer research in her spare time.
