Bill Maxwell Anderson, Owner at Bill Anderson Art Gallery, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art.
Mr. Anderson was inspired to pursue a career in art after seeing his grandfather, Oscar H. Anderson, excel in the field. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Minnesota State University before completing graduate coursework at California State University and the University of California Irvine. In 1963, Mr. Anderson accepted a position as an art teacher within the Long Beach Unified School District, thus commencing his career. In the following years, he taught at the Appleton West High School, the Anaheim Union High School District, and the Los Alamitos Unified School District, among others. However, in 1994, he fulfilled his dreams of owning a gallery by opening the Bill Anderson Art Gallery. He continues to work there today, finding consistent joy in sharing art with everyone who walks through his doors.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Anderson has additionally found success as an author. Some of his most notable publications include, “The Heritage Series: U.S. Military Joint Forces Training Base,” “The Female Form: Through the Eyes of Bill Anderson,” and “Huntington Beach, Surf City.” In recognition of his professional success, Mr. Anderson was named as the Outstanding Artist of the Year by Huntington Beach, California in 1986.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Anderson plans on continuing to work as an artist and overseeing the operations of his gallery. He attributes many of his accomplishments to the ceaseless support from his wife, Ausma Edite Liepins Anderson. The couple share two children and four grandchildren, with whom Mr. Anderson loves spending time. As a further testament to his success, he is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in American and Who’s Who in American Education.
