Joyce Lucille Fitzgerald, Owner at Natural Connections for Wellness, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health and wellness.
A graduate of Ohio University, Ms. Fitzgerald earned a Bachelor of Science in education and biological science in 1970. She went on to complete postgraduate coursework at Ohio University and Ohio State University, between 1971 and 1972. A licensed private pilot, she is also a certified biologist by the United States Fish & Wildlife Service and served as a wastewater operator in Indiana. Since 2017, Ms. Fitzgerald has excelled as the owner and a wellness practitioner with Natural Connections for Wellness as well as the Wind Dance Farm. Additionally, she has been a small organic grower since 2010. At the Wind Dance Farm, she works with rescued horses that have either been abandoned, starved or turned out. These horses have become Ms. Fitzgerald’s therapy horses for her clients at Natural Connections for Wellness. With the Wind Dance Farm, she is responsible for growing organic food and operating a small deli.
Prior to her current endeavors, Ms. Fitzgerald taught conservation educations in various school systems between 2002 and 2013. Additionally, she has held executive positions with Restoration Services, Inc., Fitzgerald Environmental Associates, Coal Services Corp. and Peabody Coal Co., for more than two decades. At the start of her career, she taught biological sciences at Zanesville Public Schools between 1970 and 1972. In a career filled with many highlights, Ms. Fitzgerald is proud to have received the National Wildlife Achievement Award from the Urban Institute of Wildlife in Washington D.C. She was awarded this honor by multiple states for the project areas that she developed into wildlife rehabilitation areas for endangered species and recreation, including Missouri, Illinois, Indian, Ohio and Kentucky. In the coming years, Ms. Fitzgerald envisions herself traveling and conducting more motivational public speaking. She is also considering taking on biographical writing.
