After graduating from high school, Mr. Corral landed a job working for architect Ted Godffrey. In this role, he discovered he had an innate skill for drafting, leading him to pursue taking night classes for planning and drafting. Mr. Corral earned an Associate of Arts from Miami-Dade College in 1973 and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Arts in landscape architecture from Louisiana State University in 1978. Desiring to spearhead his own business, he became the owner and landscape artist of Mariano Corral Landscape Architect PA in 1982. Continuing to excel in his work 38 years later, Mr. Corral specializes in golf course architecture, as he became certified in golf course design by Harvard University in 1988.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Corral has been the recipient of various awards from the Builder’s Association, as well as international accolades from Spain. Published in the National Magazine of the Builder’s Association, he has also been featured in programs from Ecuador and El Salvador. Along with his plethora of honors, Mr. Corral believes the most important aspect of his work is his mission to treat others the way he would like to be treated. He is proud to have always treated his employees as a family unit, emphasizing the meaning of ethics, keeping his word, and finding meaningful results and personal growth. With this sentiment, Mr. Corral attributes his success to hard work and always taking responsibility for his actions.

Presently, Mr. Corral maintains affiliation with the International Society of Arborists, the American Society of Landscape Architects, and Delta Upsilon. In addition, he has been involved with the South Miami Design Review Board for eight years and also dedicates time to volunteering at food drives. Looking back, Mr. Corral will never forget when Tiki Rodríguez chose him as his golf course architect, along with working with Jack Nicholson in Miami Beach. In five years’ time, Mr. Corral hopes to continue growing and creating in his profession. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, researching, golfing, model building, and playing chess. He also hopes to get into acrylic and watercolor painting, due to his love for art, history, and museums.
