For more than three decades, Ms. Woodfin has provided medical providers with in-depth risk assessment and risk management strategies that ensure growth and protect their ability to serve their patients. As a survivor of childhood polio, Ms. Woodfin knew that she wanted to become a nurse. She was accepted to the Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health at the age of sixteen, graduating with honors after three years of intense study.

Ms. Woodfin is a licensed registered nurse in California and Utah. She holds Advanced Life Support and Mobilized Intensive Care Nurse certifications. Much of her medical career was spent in emergency and triage settings, including positions as a flight nurse and coordinator for Life Flight California and a volunteer EMS and disaster preparedness consultant for Salt Lake City’s Medical Reserve Corps. In 1989, Ms. Woodfin became the director of risk management for CA Health Plans, a division of FHP, Inc., applying her complex understanding of the realities of clinical practice to insurance strategy and planning. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Phoenix, graduating with honors in 1995, and earned a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management credential.

Before establishing CORE Risk Services Inc. in 2009, Ms. Woodfin served as a corporate risk manager for Aon Risk Consulting and she was vice president of risk management consulting for Southern California Presbyterian Homes. In recognition of her work on behalf of medical providers, Ms. Woodfin is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Southern California Society for Healthcare Risk Management and a distinguished fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management. She considers the purpose of her work to be teaching and empowering organizations to continue to succeed in their missions. Looking toward the future, Ms. Woodfin plans to continue running CORE Risk Services for years to come.
