Jeremiah D. Johnson, Business Owner, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business ownership and community relations.
A native of Waukegan, Illinois, Mr. Johnson graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science in 2005. Upon graduating, he secured an internship with the Chicago Bears in 2005, before joining Northwestern University as the strength and conditioning coach between 2007 and 2009. Eventually, Mr. Johnson purchased his first business, a bar called The Bally Muck, which he has since renamed J’s Bally Muck. Additionally, he continued to train at the Waukegan Field House, working as the fitness center manager from 2012 until 2015. In 2015, Mr. Johnson became the co-owner of a local eatery Quonset Pizza, alongside his longtime friend. He later bought Glen Flora Tap and Grill in 2017.
Today, Mr. Johnson excels in a role on the Waukegan Park District Board, for which he was elected as the president in 2020. In this position, he is responsible for improving member retention and managing recruitment and customer satisfaction, as well as providing personal training services and participating in Waukegan Park District Special Events. An active participant in his community, Mr. Johnson contributes to those in need during his spare time through local schools and the police and fire departments. For his outstanding accomplishments, he was recognized as a Special Donor through J’s Bally Muck. In the coming years, Mr. Johnson would like to continue operating his three businesses while providing recreational activities in the community.
