Jerry Dee Daugherty, President and Owner at Reinhardt Construction Co., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in construction.
Growing up in Missouri, Mr. Daugherty was close to his uncle, who was a construction worker. Inspired by his uncle’s success, he decided to explore a career in construction after graduating from high school. Mr. Daugherty was friendly with the local construction company owner, Mr. Reinhardt, who ended up offering him a professional opportunist. Initially worked at Reinhardt Construction Co. in the summers, he went on to become a project manager in 1970, which preceded him earning the title of partner in 1980. By 1985, he became the president and owner of Reinhardt Construction Co., never forgetting about the man who gave him a chance. Today, Mr. Daugherty continues to excel in this role, demonstrating consistent success on each project he works on.
In 1970, Mr. Daugherty completed coursework at the University of Missouri. Fondly remembering his time as a student, he has supported the scholarship program at the university for many years. Likewise, he works with Columbia College and the Disciples of Christ Church. An active member of his industry, Mr. Daugherty serves as president of the Kansas City chapter of the Associated General College. Additionally, he continues to maintain affiliation with the Builders Association and the Political Action Committee.
In 2007, as a reflection of his myriad professional accomplishments, Mr. Daugherty was named Project of the Year by the Builders Association. Looking back on his journey to where he is today, he attributes his success to his strength in treating his clients and employees fairly. This builds a strong foundation of respect in each of his relationships, which ensures all professional projects are completed on time and with the highest standard of quality. With this sentiment, he is endlessly proud of the team with whom he works. Mr. Daugherty also credits his wife for much of his success, as he would never have accomplished so much without her support. In the future, he is excited to continue preserving the legacy of his long-time mentor, Mr. Reinhardt.
