Anthony D. Adams, Owner at Iron Horse Trucking, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in trucking.
Upon obtaining a degree in sociology and psychology from Fort Hays State University in 1990, Mr. Adams commenced his career in the trucking industry shortly thereafter. Inspired by the influence of his grandfather, who was a trucker, he would take him on onto the highways and check out lumber. Mr. Adams has now been involved in the profession for an illustrious 30 years. Working as an independent trucker since 1990, he spearheaded Iron Horse Trucking in 2003.
As the owner of Iron Horse Trucking, Mr. Adams is responsible for maintaining trucks and hauling or loading trucks. Dealing with produce, meat, construction materials and environmental products, the business is distinguished for its flatbed loads. Renowned for his dedication to safety, Mr. Adams has been the recipient of various Safe Driving Awards. He attributes his success to hard work and determination.
Reflecting on his career trajectory, Mr. Adams is particularly honored to have had his business featured in trucking magazines such as Large Car Magazine. He is also proud of staying in the game, keeping a family together, maintaining the legacy of the business and having his trucks run more than 150,000 miles per year. In five years’ time, he plans to continue reaching new heights in the trucking industry, as it is his passion and no day feels like a workday.
The advice that Mr. Adams can offer to the next generation of truckers is to be willing to work. He notes that certain things must be sacrificed in order to reach success, so you must find ways to make the lifestyle work. He also advises to learn how to do your own mechanical work and learn how to put your own needs and wants aside to ensure the business is rolling in the right direction. In his spare time, Mr. Adams enjoys contributing to his local church and working on old racecars.
