Title: Chef, Owner
Company: LN2 Restaurant
Location: Los Angeles, California, United States
Chris Robbins, Owner and Chef at LN2 Restaurant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the culinary arts.
From watching his mother suffer from an eating disorder, Mr. Robbins desired to feed her, and the rest of the world, appropriately. Coupled with his drive for independence, he would study cookbooks and create dishes to serve in his future restaurants. Since 2017, Mr. Robbins has served as the owner and chef of LN2 Restaurant, his own whimsical take on what he calls “the modern gastro lounge,” in West Hollywood, California. Since 2009, he has worked in chef services as a consultant and in catering for such establishments as the Clippers, LA Lakers, Flavor Inc, Schaffers Genuine, Amalur, Love Catering, David Hockney Films, Taste & CO, South Coast Winery, among many others. He recently hosted a VIP dinner at the James Beard House and received an honor from the James Beard Foundation. In his work, he oversees day-to-day operations in recipe creations, as well as menu development. Notably, he was named Caterer of the Year by Love Catering in 2016 and attributes his success to his passion for the craft and to the culture of food and restaurant. He is especially proud of his restaurant continuing to thrive in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to his current entrepreneurial endeavor, Mr. Robbins gained insightful chef experience in the first 11 years of his career. Initially, he was an executive chef at Ten Restaurant Group from 1998 to 2000 and at Patina Restaurant Group from 2000 to 2004. Rising to the rank of corporate executive chef, he served Vienna Hofbrau/Falcon on Sunset in 2005 and 2006, Koros in 2006 and 2007 and Smith Bros/Parkway Grill from 2007 to 2009. Mr. Robbins credits much of his current knowledge of the culinary arts to his mentor, Joachim Splichal. A world-renowned chef, he worked with him for five years in an educational setting. The advice Mr. Robbins can pass onto aspiring chefs is to understand there is always something you can learn from someone, essentially, there is always more to learn. Most of all, he believes you must love the game. In five years’ time, the distinguished chef envisions himself owning and managing additional establishments. He has received such recognition as the first runner up for the best new chef in Los Angeles and listed as one of the hottest rising stars from Angeleno Magazine, and an award of culinary achievement from the Restaurant Writers Association, among many other accolades.
