Cynthia F. Bennett, ASID, President at Cynthia Bennett & Associates, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in home remodel and design.
Backed by studies in interior design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Ms. Bennett went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Berkeley. She hit the ground running working for a book publishing company in New York before jet setting to Europe with her husband, Edward, where she found her passion for remodeling houses. Desiring to spearhead her own firm, since 1981, she has been president of Cynthia Bennett & Associates Inc., a kitchen design specialty firm that has evolved into all areas of residential design, from minor remodels and repairs to major additions. Located in the San Gabriel Valley of California, Ms. Bennett is a certified interior designer and licensed general contractor, having been one of the first women general contractors in California.
Accruing various accolades for design and construction, Ms. Bennett’s company has been listed to Qualified Remodeler Magazine’s “Top 500 Contractors in the U.S.” for multiple years. Likewise, it has also been included in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Top 100 Woman-Owned Businesses in Los Angeles” for the past 10 years and featured in Royal Magazine, among other publications. Notably, projects done by Cynthia Bennett & Associates, Inc. have been seen in numerous Showcase Houses, as well as featured on the Pasadena ASID’s Home Tour for 25 years. Ms. Bennett attributes her career success to determination and understanding how households work, as the concept of the open plan is a major contribution in her field. Presently, she serves on the board for the Contractors Association and the American Society of Interior Design and is president of the Art’s Council. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, traveling and writing.
