Company: Joanne Lucia Interiors
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Joanne E. Lucia, ASID, Owner at Joanne Lucia Interiors, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in interior design.
At 13 years old, Ms. Lucia was allowed to design her own bedroom and at that point, she wanted to be either a cop, lawyer or designer. After designing her own bedroom, she knew she wanted to be an interior designer and has never looked back. Since her youth, she enjoyed putting her clothes together and appreciated colors and textures. Ms. Lucia went on to earn a Bachelor of Professional Arts in interior design from Woodbury College in 1965, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Pepperdine College. Upon completion of her degrees, she became certified by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She began her career in 1970 as the owner of Joanne Lucia Interiors in Los Angeles, until 1994. Since 1994, Ms. Lucia has served as the owner of Joanne Lucia Interiors in Las Vegas.
The best accolade Ms. Lucia can get at the end of a project is if a friend of a client comes to her and says that she did a beautiful job, making it look like they designed the home themselves. Reflecting on her career, one project that stands out was a large house in Colorado for a client she had done about 13 or 14 projects previously. She wanted it to be uniquely different but workable and Ms. Lucia told the client they could only have two deer heads on things, to give it the perfect, warm cabin feel. Dedicated to making her clients happy, Ms. Lucia believes she is successful for this reason, as well as sticking with the same clients for multiple projects, as she has the ability to remain true to them with just her common thread. She adds that communication is very important and you must understand what they are looking for and not looking for. Creating an individual personality in each one of the houses has been the highlight of her career.
