Hailing from a family of laborers, Mr. Nakagawa grew up on a strawberry farm in California. While he enjoyed his upbringing, he concluded that physical labor was too much on his body and he sought a profession outside of the farm. In 1973, he earned a Bachelor of Science in business from Fresno State University. Two years later, Mr. Nakagawa went on to become a Certified Public Accountant in 1975. Having practiced as an accountant at his private practice since 1977, he holds a plethora of expertise in finance, manufacturing and strategic planning. Alongside these feats, he desired to spearhead a business of his own.
Notably, in 1991, Mr. Nakagawa became the chief executive officer of Marathon Products, a designer and manufacturer of intelligent sensors for the semiconductor and life sciences. Products that they manufacture include environmental sensors for the cold chain, such as for pharmaceutical, semi-conductors, produce, laboratory, for temperature monitoring, mapping and tracing. Mr. Nakagawa holds more than 25 years of experience in the temperature management industry and is responsible for product development and relations with key corporate accounts worldwide. As a testament to his prowess, he has two patents in sensor technology and a third patent pending.
Mr. Nakagawa attributes his success in creating his own beginnings and taking life into his own hands. He has found a great passion for resolving issues and figuring out solutions, which can be applicable in his accounting and manufacturing roles. Through these processes, he is proud to have developed the first temperature logger that would record at minus 80 degrees Celsius without using external probes for the shipment. Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Nakagawa is actively involved in the Kiwanis Club, which has awarded him for his efforts on multiple occasions. Looking ahead, Mr. Nakagawa aims to seek a successor for his business all while working on the next greatest innovation. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and fishing.
