Richard W. Hoffmann Sr., Chief Executive Officer and Founder at HFT Fire and Rescue Technologies and Equipment LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fire safety.
For as long as Mr. Hoffmann can remember, he has been passionate about fire safety and science. In the years following his high school graduation, he completed coursework at San Jose State University, the California Department of Forestry Fire Academy and California Community Colleges. In 1979, he began his career as a fire apparatus engineer with the California Department of Forestry. Remaining until 1986, he proceeded to work as an emergency medical technician and ambulance driver for Calaveras Mobile Life Support before becoming the acting fire captain and peace officer for California Military Department’s Camp Roberts Fire and Safety Department. Later, from 2002 until 2016, Mr. Hoffmann served as a fire and life safety consultant with Hoffmann Fire & Rescue Technologies and Equipment. Today, he excels as the founder and chief executive officer at HFT Fire and Rescue Technologies and Equipment.
Outside of Mr. Hoffmann’s primary ventures, he has been a patented inventor since 2001. That year, he invented the world’s first-ever functional fire hood cabinet. He additionally created the world’s smallest fire hose roller, which rolled up more than 3,000 feet of hose by itself in one hour. This was an impressive feat, as that would normally take at least three firefighters over four hours to complete. Today, Mr. Hoffmann’s inventions continue to make firefighters’ lives safer. He considers his work as an inventor to be the highlight of his career. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hoffmann hopes to teach fire hydraulics at the collegiate level, as well as upholding his position as a top leader in fire home protection. He would love to continue making a difference in the world for as long as possible.
