J. Kevin White, Founder and Executive Director at Global Vision 2020, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in philanthropy.
Known for his contributions as a philanthropist and advocate on behalf of those less fortunate, Mr. White has served as the executive director of Global Vision 2020, a nonprofit foundation that seeks to proliferate the use of prescription eyeglasses throughout the world. Established in 2013, the foundation collaborates with faith-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, public entities and hospitals by providing cost-effective and efficient vision tests, the USee Vision Kit, for those in need. Mr. White, having previously distinguished himself as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, drew inspiration from his two decade-long experience as the program director of the Humanitarian and Civic Assistance at European Command.
Well regarded for his indelible contributions to the field, Mr. White has garnered several awards throughout the course of his career. Among them, he won a Patent for Humanity for his vision kit from the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2020, a Social Impact Design Award from the Industrial Designers Society of America in 2019 and a WeWork Creator Award in 2018. Likewise, Mr. White won the Aid Innovation Challenge through AidEx in 2019, and the Chasing Genius Challenge, hosted by National Geographic in 2017.
Mr. White’s exemplary performance in the field was born of his academic journey. Having initially attained a Bachelor of Arts in general science from the United States Naval Academy in 1992, he went on to study at Johns Hopkins University, from which he earned a Master of Arts in 2018. Furthermore, to support his career endeavors, Mr. White maintains his membership with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.
