Salvatore Moscato

Title: Co-Owner
Company: Moscato Ristorante Italiano
Location: Camp Verde, Arizona, United States

Salvatore Moscato, Co-Owner of Moscato Ristorante Italiano, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fine dining and Italian cuisine.

Mr. Moscato began cooking at his grandmother’s side as a child in his native Sicily and spent many years as the pastry chef at a small, local restaurant before moving to the United States. His first job in the U.S. was at an Italian restaurant in New Jersey called Casa Dante, where he recalls learning about American food and culture “like a sponge.” By 2016, Mr. Moscato had settled in Arizona with the goal of opening his own restaurant featuring the fresh, authentic regional Italian fare that he remembered from his childhood. He opened Moscato Ristorante Italiano the same year.

Since then, Moscato Ristorante Italiano has received glowing reviews from diners and local press and is featured in Arizona Highways Magazine. It was presented with a 2020 River Valley People’s Choice Award, a distinction that Mr. Moscato considers to be a career highlight. Mr. Moscato strives to serve only fresh, housemade dishes, including freshly-made pasta and sauces made from ingredients purchased daily, emphasizing his distaste for processed food and his belief that the quality of his ingredients helps set him apart. In November 2020, he brought this philosophy to Thanks A Latte, a newly acquired local coffee shop centering freshly-roasted coffee beans and drinks made with an antique Italian espresso machine. As a beloved part of the Camp Verde community, Mr. Moscato provides holiday dinners to local firefighters and emergency medical staff and is a frequent donor to area charities. Within five years, he hopes to expand Moscato Italian Ristorante to a larger location that will allow them to host weddings and other celebrations and to continue serving the fresh, high-quality food that is his passion.
