Since 1999, Mr. Wales has thrived as the executive national sales director for ValuTeachers, a network marketing-based financial services company specializing in retirement savings plans for teachers and school employees. He has enjoyed more than 30 years of success in the insurance industry and holds both life and health insurance sales licenses. Mr. Wales studied agribusiness and agricultural business operations at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and was introduced to insurance by a friend in the business in the late 1980s. After briefly working with Primerica, he became an independent life insurance and annuities salesman in 1990. Using the skills that he developed as an independent insurance salesman, Mr. Wales transferred his business to ValuTeachers in 1999.
Since then, Mr. Wales has found success hiring, training, and managing a team of sales agents across Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina, and he continues to maintain a portfolio of independent clients throughout Louisiana. Since joining ValuTeachers, Mr. Wales has won numerous awards and recognitions for outstanding sales, including being the top sales agent in the company for personal accounts in 2003, and consistently winning annual reward trips for excellent sales. He credits his ongoing success to his compassion for others’ financial goals and ability to hire excellent agents. Mr. Wales notes that his son has recently entered the ValuTeachers business with him, and he hopes to help him build a successful company in the coming years. When he is not focused on building his business, Mr. Wales enjoys watching football games and is a dedicated Louisiana State University fan.
