LaShon M. Carter, Owner at TinyTigers Learning Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in daycare leadership.
From watching her mother, aunt and cousins work in a daycare setting, Ms. Carter desired to enter the same industry in her own right. In her youth, she had loved teaching, as she would host an imaginary class at home with herself as the teacher, her father as the principal and her mother as the vice principal. As she grew older, finding creative ways to teach her own children how to spell their names also inspired her, ultimately leading her to take on a role in watching toddlers at the recreation center, Inner City Ministry. To back her professional career, Ms. Carter matriculated at Chattanooga State Community College, where she received an Associate of Science in human service in 2010 and is currently working on attaining a Bachelor of Science in business management.
Desiring to take the next step in her career, Ms. Carter spearheaded TinyTigers Learning Center in 2015. As the owner of the daycare center, she creates curriculum and lesson plans, focuses on children hitting their developmental milestones and introduces children to various educational activities. Likewise, Ms. Carter has been a donor to the Ronald McDonald House since 2018, as well as a member of Chaplain of Chambers and Early Matters of Chattanooga. She attributes her entrepreneurial success to God and the support of her family, along with her patience. Looking ahead, Ms. Carter aims to employ more teachers while promoting proper educational background for educators to children of all ages. She also plans to continue working and living by the mottos, “Always be yourself or try again” and “Train up the child because we train the children for tomorrow’s leaders.”
