Lila O. Pecht, BBA, retired entrepreneur and owner of Pecht’s Business Service & Flip Flop Reports, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in accounting.
Ms. Pecht is a retired business owner and bookkeeper with more than four decades of business management and accounting expertise. Her interest in the field began with an eighth-grade career tour to an accountant’s office, where she found herself drawn to the stability the job offered. After high school, Ms. Pecht completed coursework at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor before transferring to the University of Texas, graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. She began her career as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant for several local tax accountants and real estate firms, in addition to a stint as secretary for the Williams County Sheriff’s Department.
After the sudden death of her employer in 1970, Ms. Pecht was encouraged to open an independent tax accounting office, resulting in Pecht’s Business Service. She continued to run the firm until her retirement in 2017 and expanded her business service offerings from 1982 until 2003 as the owner of Flip Flop Reports. Ms. Pecht credits her success to her confidence, discretion, and empathy for her clients, many of whom were friends and former colleagues. She is the past president of the Women’s Business League of Georgetown, Texas, and is proud to have broken barriers and overcome obstacles as a woman in accounting while also simply enjoying the work. Ms. Pecht has been married to her husband, Norman, for more than 50 years, and is a proud parent of two and grandparent of one. In her retirement, she enjoys cooking and baking.
