An accomplished professional with more than 15 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Strickland currently works as the owner and designer of Strickland Interiors, posts she has held since 2010. Previously, she garnered experience as an interior designer and salesperson with both Pickwick Antiques and King Cotton Fabrics in Montgomery, Alabama. From 2011 to 2012, Ms. Strickland worked as a kitchen designer and salesperson with the European Kitchen of Alabama, and from 2005 to 2006 she was a secretary to Myrt T. Hales Jr., Attorney at Law.
In preparation for her career pursuits, Ms. Strickland completed an interior design internship with Malouf Furniture and Design in Foley, Alabama, in 2009, as well as with Penage Inc. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 2010. Subsequently, she graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in human environmental sciences and interior design in 2010. In addition to her degree, Ms. Strickland is also accredited through the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, or CIDA, which is an independent, nonprofit organization for interior design education.
Ms. Strickland contributes her time to numerous endeavors in addition to her primary pursuits. She has worked as a lead designer for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a founder and board member of the Autism Society of North Louisiana, and as a member of the board of trustees of the Ravel United Methodist Church. Furthermore, Ms. Strickland is a sponsor of Sedente Animo and has worked with the Monroe Junior Garden Club.
Ms. Strickland’s work has been featured by multiple publications and organizations, including Bayou Life Magazine, StyleMePretty.com, Wayfair, and InteriorDesignPro.com. She was a finalist for Top Three Designers in 2021, a Bayou Buzz Finalist for the design category with Bayou Life Magazine in 2020, and received a Jack Davis Professional Achievement Award from the University of Alabama in 2019, among numerous other accolades. To remain aware of developments within her field, she is affiliated with the American Society of Interior Designers, as well as the University of Alabama Alumni Association, Alpha Gamma Delta, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and Phi Upsilon Omicron, among others. Driven by an inherent interest in design, in the coming years Ms. Strickland hopes to expand her clientele and her reputation as an interior designer.
