Sangtae Park, Chef and Owner at Tengoku Aburiya and Omakase Yume, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership as a restaurateur.

A certified Japanese chef, certified Korean chef, and graduate of the Culinary School of Japanese Cuisine, Mr. Park has served as the chef and owner of Omakase Yume since 2018 and the chef and owner of Tengoku Aburiya since 2020. Previously, he found success as the owner and executive chef of both Izakaya Yume and Sushi Badaya, and as the head chef for both Nikko Sushi and HanaJapan between 2004 and 2006. Earlier in his career, he garnered experience as a second chef and master sushi chef at both Mirai Sushi and Japonais, and was the owner and master sushi chef of Biwon from 1995 to 1999. Prior to these posts, Mr. Park developed his skills in various sushi chef and Japanese chef positions.

For his accomplishments, Mr. Park and his restaurants have been featured in the Chicago Tribune in 2018, on ABC News in 2018 and Chicago Magazine in 2019, among other recognitions. At Omakase Yume, he is proud of his customer base and the trust he established with his patrons. Over the years, as his reputation grew, his regular diners began to leave their dinner choice “up to the chef,” which is the meaning of the restaurant’s name, “omakase.” Married to his wife, Kate Kim Park, Mr. Park is the proud father of two children. Initially starting in the restaurant industry because of his mother, who always served others, Mr. Park looks forward to the continued success of his restaurants in the years to come.
