Yannick Cam, Chef and Owner of Bistro Provence, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in culinary arts.
Born and raised in France, Mr. Cam is renowned for his specialization in contemporary French cuisine. Celebrating nearly 60 years of experience in the industry, he began his career as an apprentice in a restaurant near his childhood home. Over the course of the next decade, he honed his craft in several of the top restaurants and hotels in France, including the five-star Royale Hotel in Deauville and the three-star Michelin restaurant Lasserre in Paris. Relocating to New York City in 1973, he found success serving customers at such restaurants as the Four Seasons Restaurant, Le Pavillon in Washington D.C., and his own, Le Coup De Fusil, Le Paradou and Yannick’s at the Radisson Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia. Presently, Mr. Cam is grateful for the opportunity to be of service to his local community by utilizing only the finest ingredients, organic products and prime meats.
Since opening Bistro Provence in 2010, Mr. Cam has garnered a reputation for his unique sauces, flavors and recipes, many of which have emerged from around the world. Regarded as a Restaurateur of the Year by the Washingtonian Magazine, he is proud to have been the recipient of the Wine Spectator’s 1985 Grant Award and the Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence. Additionally, his restaurants were later honored among the Nation’s 25 Best New Restaurants by Esquire Magazine on two occasions, with Yannick’s in 1994 and Le Paradou in 2004. Furthermore, he was nominated as the Best Mid-Atlantic Chef for his contemporary Mexican and French cuisines by the James Beard Foundation in 1993 and 1997. Looking toward the future, Mr. Cam aims to continue serving guests while broadening his knowledge on contemporary and traditional culinary techniques.
