Over the course of her more than 10-year career as a therapist, Ms. Budde has created various creative interventions to help her clients, leading her to establish Smash RX, LLC in 2019. With a mission to create a safe and healthy outlet to release the everyday normal stresses of life, while breaking down the stigmas surrounding mental health, Smash RX, LLC is the first and only rage room in Southern California to approach destruction therapy from a mental healthcare perspective. Along with working to make destruction therapy clinically approved, they also offer yoga, equine therapy, dance therapy and nature therapy. In addition to her primary role, Ms. Budde has also been the chief executive officer of The Crocheting Therapist since 2015 and a crisis therapist at the Child & Family Centers in Santa Clarita, California since 2011. In 2020, she became an advisory board member of MilSpec Capital and M3 Life Sciences.
Ms. Budde was a psychiatric social worker for Kaiser Permanente from 2014 to 2019 and a medical social worker for TLC Medical Social Worker Agency from 2014 to 2015. Between 2009 and 2011, she gained experience as a therapist with the Drew Child Development Corporation and a facilitator at the Children’s Institute, Inc. Ms. Budde attributes her success to her ability to creatively reach people – she encourages all therapists to get some grounding and working in such areas because it develops your understanding and ways to reach people. Ms. Budde received a Bachelor of Arts in business management with an emphasis in accounting, as well as a Master of Arts in psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from the Phillips Graduate Institute in 2008.
