For more than 40 years, Mr. Segler has been the owner of Segler Concrete Service, a specialty flooring company providing high-quality interior and exterior concrete pouring and finishing work to clients throughout Southern Illinois. He developed an interest in the building trade while in high school, and after graduating, he relocated from his hometown, Bradford, in Northern Illinois, to his current home, where, he explains, “things just fell into place.” Drawn to hands-on work and passionate about creating the residences and commercial buildings where his clients’ lives unfolded, he began working in concrete services as a contractor and member of the Plasterers & Cement Masons Local Union 143.
With a portfolio including basements, sidewalks, decorative concrete, walls, and flatwork, Segler Concrete Service has been “Building Southern Illinois for Over 40 Years.” Mr. Segler credits his success to his employees, recognizing that he would not be where he is without them, and he takes pride in the opportunity to work with them as a team and foster their development as craftsmen. He has provided extensive pro bono work for organizations serving clients with disabilities and considers volunteering to be one of the best parts of his career. Mr. Segler has three children with his wife, Tammy, and seven grandchildren, and hopes to turn Segler Concrete Service over to them in the coming years.
