Jonathan Goldstein, owner of B&M Market, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in gourmet food.
Mr. Goldstein is an entrepreneur, chef, and the owner of B&M Market, a gourmet caterer and butcher shop serving customers throughout the tri-state area. He graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor’s degree in economics in 2005, and began his career on Wall Street, spending several years as a trader. Since childhood, Mr. Goldstein has had a passion for food and cooking, and even while working in finance, he developed a reputation as the “go-to person” to plan a party or order catering for the office.
While managing a successful career as a stock trader, Mr. Goldstein also worked in restaurants and as an independent party planner in his free time. At the age of 30, he decided to follow his dream of working in food and hospitality full-time, and purchased B&M Market, then operating as what Mr. Goldstein describes as “a real, old-school butcher shop” that had served the community for more than 55 years. Under Mr. Goldstein’s ownership, B&M Market continues to sell high-quality meats and fish, and has expanded to offer a range of gourmet prepared foods and special event catering.
B&M Market has been named Best Butcher Shop for four years in a row and has been recognized as the Best Meat, Best Caterer, and Best Burger in Bergen County. Mr. Goldstein is in the process of relocating to a new, larger retail location expected to open in August, and looks forward to being able to offer in-person dining and private dinner parties in-store at the new location. He credits his success to hard work and a stellar customer base, and hopes to continue learning from others and building his business in the coming years. When he is not working, Mr. Goldstein serves on the board of CarePlus, and enjoys time spent with family, playing golf, and cheering on the New York Giants.
