Delano “DJ” Johnson, founder, president and owner of Jon-Mac Company, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in real estate investment.
Mr. Johnson is a real estate entrepreneur and the owner of the Jon-Mac Company, a property investment venture specializing in fix-and-flip sales and distressed properties. Raised in poverty, Mr. Johnson was determined to find an opportunity to overcome his early challenges and find an alternative. He began working at the age of 14 after asking a local convenience store owner for a job, rising to become manager after graduating high school. Mr. Johnson attended Tidewater Community College, earning an Associate’s degree in administration and justice, and graduated from Saint Leo University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
His first business venture was the convenience store that he worked at as a teen: he eventually purchased the store, which springboarded his interest in real estate investing. After flipping his first property, an $8,000 home with significant burn damage, for a $30,000 profit, Mr. Johnson continued to develop his knowledge of the industry and business skills, launching several other ventures including a party bus company and a chain of convenience stores. Since 2010, he has been the president and owner of Jon-Mac Company, where he continues his real estate and property management business. He has been featured in The Top 100 Magazine, and is an active supporter for charities benefiting children and youth. He attributes his success to a desire to excel in life, and looks forward to continuing to build his business and “work harder and smarter” in the coming years.
