Having accrued two decades of experience in his chosen field, Mr. Davenport has served as the owner of ELD Touring Enterprises, a family-owned guide service that offers over three decades of experience in three hour, six hour and evening tours of local sights. Additionally, the company escorts interested tourists to such historical locales as the battlefield outside Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Mount Vernon, and the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum. In this capacity, Mr. Davenport is responsible for itinerary planning for customized tours, including conducting field research and taking photographs.
Mr. Davenport previously served as a tour guide in the vicinity of Old Washington, D.C., the area that was prominent between 1850 and 1920, from 1989 until 2009. Furthermore, he once worked as an educator. Mr. Davenport’s performance in the field was born of his academic accomplishments, during which time he attended Hampton University, where he attained a Bachelor of Science in business management, marketing and support services in 1991.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Davenport credits the passion he brings to his profession, as well as his love for teaching children. As a tour guide, he is also well regarded for his ability to put tourists at ease. Among his various career highlights, he is most proud to have endured numerous industry setbacks, such as those arising 9/11 and COVID-19 pandemic. Looking toward the future, Mr. Davenport hopes to continue in his current line of work, and perhaps resume his career as an educator at a community college.
