Ms. Herrod’s creative career began nearly 20 years ago as a faux finisher and a color and design consultant creating murals, Venetian plasters and specialty finishes in people’s homes.
Transitioning her creativity to the kitchen, Ms. Herrod began her culinary career by baking a cake for her niece’s 3rd birthday and she continued to bake for friends and family on weekends before launching the Chocolate Llama Cake Company. The company continues to grow, and she has recently been contracted as the sole cake vendor for The Woodlands, a brand new, high-end events venue. Looking toward the future, her goal is to establish a brick-and-mortar location to operate her business and hopes to cultivate a national reputation for boutique quality and creative execution.
