After two decades as a chef and food runner at the Rio Hotel and Casino, Mr. Jarukasem opened The Legends Oyster Bar and Grill in Las Vegas in 2020. The restaurant has been featured in local magazines and media outlets including Las Vegas Weekly, and has received stellar reviews from patrons and critics. Mr. Jarukasem attributes his success to good teamwork, his dedicated staff, and a genuine passion for the culinary arts.
Raised on a farm in southeast Thailand, Mr. Jarukasem grew up helping his grandmother in the kitchen and learned how to cook local produce, fresh seafood, chicken, duck, goose and pig. At age 11, Mr. Jarukasem immigrated to the United States and continued his culinary education working in his mother’s restaurants after school and on the weekends in Las Vegas. Looking toward the future, he hopes to open more locations and explore franchising opportunities for The Legends Oyster Bar and Grill. Mr. Jarukasem’s advice to anyone who wishes to enter the restaurant industry is to love what they do and never quit refining their craft.
