Nathaniel A. Armstrong, owner of Big Oak Tavern, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the culinary arts.
Mr. Armstrong opened Big Oak Tavern in 2019 to provide guests a unique take on fine dining, serving American cuisine with an Asian influence. With an extensive background in restaurant management, he has dedicated his career to providing his community with high-quality dining and customer service with attractive prices and alternate menu options and is proud to partner with local farms and sustainable providers. His passion for food developed at a young age, and he grew up helping his grandmother, a professional baker, make occasion cakes for clients. Mr. Armstrong graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 2003 with an Associate of Applied Sciences in culinary arts and chef training.
Before starting Big Oak Tavern, Mr. Armstrong held a variety of restaurant industry positions, including managing the CentraArchy Restaurant Management Co., working as a kitchen manager at Ted’s Montana Grill and general manager of Stoney River Legendary Steaks, and as a marketing associate for Sysco Atlanta. Mr. Armstrong is proud to have been featured in Atlanta Eats and regularly contributes to the Hero Meals Program and the STAR House Foundation. He is active in the Roswell Economic Development and Tourism board and hopes to eventually open ten or more Big Oak Tavern locations.
