Thomas Jones, AIA, Partner and Director of Design and Architect at JMDG Architecture Planning + Interiors, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in architecture.
Backed by a Bachelor of Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology from 1995, Mr. Jones has excelled in his chosen field as an architect of more than 20 years. Specializing in commercial and high-end residential architecture, he has been a partner and director of design with JMDG Architecture Planning + Interiors in Naples, Florida since 2017. In his role, Mr. Jones oversees design for all projects and its technical details, as well as meets with project managers. Additionally, he has been an architect for WDG Architecture in Naples, Florida since 1999.
Prior to his current posts, Mr. Jones had gained earlier experience in New Jersey working with Ruggieri & Partners in Turnersville, Musgnug Cogan Architects in Surf City-Long Beach Island and Buchart Horn/Basco Associates in Marlton. Upon relocating to Naples, Florida, he also worked with JDS Jones Design Studio, MHK Architecture & Planning, Architects Unlimited, Architectural Network and Disney & Associates. From his experience, Mr. Jones considers his most notable achievement has been designing and working on a number of high-profile and unique projects. He designed several towers on the beach at the Bahamas and served as the head designer for Nissan Infinity. His most recent expensive projects involve a 17,000 and a 24,000 square foot house.
Mr. Jones has received numerous awards from the American Institute of Architects Florida Southwest Chapter including the 2006 Design Award for Conditioned Air, the 2008 Design Award for Florida Gulf Coast University Naples Center, the 2010 Design Award for Ivey Lane Community Center and Conditioned Air, the 2011 Design Award for Florida Case Study House and the 2012 Design Award for Permanent Supportive Housing. Additionally, he was the winner of the Foundation for Architecture’s Lighthouse Design-Build Competition at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in 1996.
To remain abreast of his industry, Mr. Jones maintains affiliation with the American Institute of Architects, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Collier Building Industry Association, Naples Area Professional League of Executive Services and ANCHORA. In his civic endeavors, he has served as chairman of the board of directors and campus design architect of Human Sex Trafficking Rescue with Path2Freedom, Inc. and a member of the board of trustees of Homeless Shelter and Drug Rehabilitation with St. Matthew’s House/Justin’s Place. Skilled in many field, Mr. Jones is also a guitarist, member and composer for a rock band.
