David J. Westfall, Owner and Composer of Westfall Music Publications, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music composition.

Mr. Westfall is a composer, performer, and teacher best-known for his diverse body of work, including the Seventh Army Soldiers’ Chorus, chamber pieces for string quartets and full symphonies, and two operas. By the age of six, Mr. Westfall had begun playing piano by ear, and he started to write music as a teen. He holds a Bachelor of Music in composition from Oberlin College and a Master of Music in composition and piano from West Virginia University, and has studied internationally in Salzburg in addition to completing doctoral coursework at the University of Cincinnati. 

Mr. Westfall continued to teach at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Akron through the 1970s, and worked with students in public school and private instructional settings. He served as the organist and choir director at Zion Lutheran Church between 1984 and 2008, and has performed professionally with ensembles in Germany and the United States, including the United States Army Field Band, the Southeast Ohio Symphony, and the Wooster Symphony. Mr. Westfall is the owner of Westfall Music Publications, and continues to produce new work and support several regional symphonies.
