Making food dreams come to life, Ms. Rutherford left her two-decade-long career as a lawyer and paralegal to pursue her passion for the culinary arts. Since 2008, she has excelled as the executive director and founder of Kitchen Food Ventures in Long Beach, California. In this endeavor, she has led teams of farmers, small business owners, hospitality/culinary students, and more through multiple levels of success around agriculture and food initiatives, as well as overseeing the operational, administrative and function of the kitchen. As a business consultant, her work with women and veterans concerns has empowered people to establish and grow their own businesses. Since May 1, her company has delivered nearly 12,000 food boxes from local farmers.

Finding great success in her pursuits, Ms. Rutherford was the recipient of a Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2013. A member of the National Association of Self Employed, she also spends time volunteering with the New Image Emergency Shelter for homeless women and children. In addition, Ms. Rutherford is building a commercial kitchen to help budding chefs launch their businesses, in which they can rent the space, create a website and reassess their business plan to help them with their profitability. In the coming years, she aims to spearhead a BBQ stand, as well as internationally ship her renowned pies. Ms. Rutherford earned a Bachelor of Science in public administration from the University of Southern California and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Emory Law School in 1986.
