Ms. Blue obtained a Bachelor of Science in social work from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1976 and later continued her education with a certificate from the School of Business for Practical Comptrollership Program, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California in 1998 and certificates in business administration from St. Leo University, Florida and project management from the School of Business from George Washington University in 2000. She followed with certificates in senior leadership development in 2004 and organizational leadership in 2007 with the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia.
Ms. Blue has served her country as a budget analyst in the comptroller office of the United States Joint Forces Command from 2001 to 2008, a financial manager in the comptroller office and a program analyst in the strategy and future requirements division in the Navy Installations Command from 2008 to 2011. She has received an Outstanding Achievement and Joint Civilian Award from the United States Joint Forces Command, each in 2008.
Beginning in 2011, Ms. Blue has prospered as an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay, the famed cosmetics distributor. In what she considers a career highlight, she published her first novel, “Broken Dolls,” on the Dorrance imprint in 2018.
Ms. Blue has assisted in her community as a volunteer, STEM Program, as president, mentor and secretary with the Princess Anne Business and Professional Women’s Club, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Opera Guild and on the committee of the Homeowners’ Association Board in Virginia Beach. Her memberships have included Stand Up for Kids and Future Billionaire’s Club, Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach, and the Compassion Advocacy Network.
Attributing her career success to her perseverance and a relentless focus on achieving her goals, Ms. Blue is hoping for continued success with Mary Kay and her writing career, and hopes to parlay her success as an independent contractor into a mentorship where she can help others gain a foothold.
