In 1994, Mr. Barchard founded the Professional Martial Arts Academy (PMA) in Derry, New Hampshire on the principles of personal attention, tradition, student service, and teaching excellence. The Academy has ranked among the Top 20 Schools in the martial arts industry. PMA is also the home of Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of New Hampshire, the discipline’s only training center in the state.
A martial arts practitioner for many years, Mr. Barchard is a national karate champion, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Masters Seniors World Champion and has been inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame. He has taught in and worked as a consultant in London and many locations around the United States.
Mr. Barchard attributes his success to his passion and work ethic. In the coming years, he intends to keep growing as a person, continue impacting the community in a good way through outreach programs and inspire more young people to become leaders.
