Ms. DeAngelo has parlayed her lifelong interest in good food, cheese, wine, entertaining into a successful three-decade career in the food and beverage industry as owner of Ola, a successful restaurant in the Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s North Shore from 2005 to 2015. In addition, since 2018 she has prospered as president and chief executive officer with Side Street Inn, whose two locations in Honolulu have garnered a multitude of awards and accolades for its inviting atmosphere and award-winning “gourmet comfort food.” She successfully launched Bubbly & Bleu in 2020, a catering service in Honolulu offering cheese, fresh fruit and charcuterie boxes and platters.
Bubbly & Bleu capitalizes on Ms. DeAngelo’s enjoyment in making cheeseboards, as she has done since she married her husband, renowned chef Fred DeAngelo, in Italy in 2005. While there, they were greeted each morning with baskets of fresh fruit, cheese and breads for breakfast. She attributes her success to hard work and passion for what she does as someone who is involved in the food and beverage industry and as an entrepreneur. She was mentored as a restaurateur by the owner of the Side Street Inn, who taught her everything about the business, introduced her to different people and taught her the importance of networking in the industry. This experience has led her to become the successful entrepreneur that she is today. In coming years, Ms. DeAngelo hopes to expand the Side Street Inn business in the mainland United States and Japan.
