Since 2015, Mr. Mestas has provided superior service as founder and owner of Dog Training Elite in Lehi. He has over four decades of canine training experience and previously operated Arrow Kennels, which was named for his first obedience trial dog, a beloved golden retriever. He has previously served on the boards of the Utah Valley Kennel Club, Great Salt Lake Retrieval Club and Northern Utah Retriever Club. In addition, Mr. Mestas has worked with service dogs for the blind in San Rafael, California.

Mr. Mestas had trained Arrow informally to hunt ducks before enrolling him in a dog training class with Don Willick, who persuaded him to enter the dog in an American Kennel Club dog competition in Idaho. Arrow won first place, stimulating Mr. Mestas’s interest in the field. He attended seminars with superior canine trainers in Canada and across the western United States, frequently winning competitions.

Mr. Mestas has worked with and coached members of the Utah Task Force 1 Search and Rescue Team as well as various police department canines. Moreover, he has coached numerous canines and their owners to Junior, Senior and Master Hunter Awards administered by the American Kennel Club. Additionally, he has helped dogs and their owners in Companion Dog Excellence and Utility Dog titles. Over the next few years, Mr. Mestas sees his company expanding to a minimum of 50 franchises across the nation.
