Since 2010, Mr. Montella has excelled as founder, owner and personal trainer with THE WAY LLC, a premier boxing and fitness gymnasium in Woburn, Massachusetts. In this position, he conducts personal training services to help clients meet their fitness goals, ensures safety of the clients through conducting health and fitness screens, mentors clients on healthy lifestyle changes to better meet their goals and focuses on sports performance training for all.
A former U.S. Marine from 1999 to 2003, where he prospered as a security officer and machinist, Mr. Montella became a boxer at age 31 and fought 21 amateur fights, winning a Golden Gloves competition, before turning professional. He thereupon had a 9-0 record with eight knockouts and was ranked 23 in the country before he retired from the sport.
Mr. Montella provided superior service with security management and armed security with Intercon Security Ltd. in 2004 and then as a demolition technician from 2004 to 2006 with Concrete Protection and Restoration, a leading concrete contractor, where he specialized in hydrodemolition, the controlled use of water to demolish and remove reinforced concrete for reconstruction projects, and as a manufacturer’s representative and concrete product specialist with Wacker Neuson AG from 2005 to 2010.
Mr. Montella became involved in his profession because he always wanted to be a personal trainer and help people. He considers his career highlight raising his son alongside him at his gym. He is also proud of being a professional athlete. Mr. Montella’s biggest professional achievement is being known in his community as a person that makes a difference in people’s lives.
