Location: Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, United States

V. Jaime Hamlin, Owner at V. Jaime Hamlin & Sons Catering, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in food service administration.

For over a quarter century, Ms. Hamlin has prospered as a restaurateur and caterer in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, as co-owner of Feast the Food Store as well as Oyster Bar in Oak Bluffs and V. Jaime Hamlin & Sons Catering, a premier service she owns and operates with her sons Alexander, Duncan, Nicholas. During her four-decade career, she has become the pre-eminent caterer for the lavish wedding ceremonies that have become more and more frequent on the resort Massachusetts island.

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in radio, television, and film from Northwestern University in Chicago, Ms. Hamlin joined her sister Cynthia on Martha’s Vineyard, acquired work as a cook with Carol Brush at Martha’s Cheeses and subsequently partnered with her in Martha’s Restaurant and then with her ex-husband Raymond Schilcher with Feasts. She and her husband founded a catering service in 1981 and she subsequently gave birth to identical triplet sons the following year, who grew up in the catering business and began a greater involvement in it following the couple’s divorce in 1994. In August 1997, she scored an early triumph when she was hired to cater an affair given by President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary and attained some publicity as it occurred on the night that Princess Diana was tragically killed in an automobile accident.

V. Jaime and Sons Catering has attained unparalleled success on Martha’s Vineyard since, winning Best of the Vineyard honors every year from 2008 to 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic presented unique challenges that resulted in Ms. Hamlin founding V. Jaime Hamlin at Home, a delivery service that brings her food her clients’ doorsteps.

According to Ms. Hamlin most notable achievement would be her children. She’s very proud of them and their accomplishments, and for having been in business with her throughout the years for without them, she would not be able to achieve her goals. In the coming years, she hopes to retire from her full-time work as the owner of the business and would like to spend more time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
