Title: Owner
Company: Yankee Restorations LLC
Location: West Townsend, Massachusetts, United States

Robert Duncan, Owner at Yankee Restorations LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in historic building restoration.

Since 2011, Mr. Duncan has prospered as a third-generation owner and general contractor with Yankee Restorations LLC in West Townsend, Massachusetts, a premier family-owned and operated residential remodeling company whose residential projects include restorations, full remodels, additions and new construction, where he specializes in custom carpentry and tile work, high-end trim work, excavation and painting. He brings over three decades of construction experience to building restoration and repair, beginning with the family business, Scott A. Duncan, Inc. in Southampton, where he excelled as a carpenter, welder, heavy equipment operator and Class A truckdriver from 1988 to 1997.

Mr. Duncan subsequently provided superior service as a welder and millwright with Notch Mechanical Constructors in Chicopee from 1997 to 1999, a fiber technician with Comcast from 1999 to 2006 and a senior system technician with Charter Communications in Pepperell from 2007 to 2015.

In addition to being focused, having a strong drive and impressive networking skills ensured Mr. Duncan’s success as an entrepreneur in the residential restoration industry. He never forgets that he is responsible for upholding a great name and legacy from his father and grandfather. Prompted by his father, he learned various skills in the construction industry that now allow him to provide different kinds of services, keeping the company busy and his workers gainfully employed.

In 2000, Mr. Duncan briefly ventured into fiber optics work before returning to the company. He helped preserve and grow the business, working nights and weekends until he decided to run it full time six years ago, and has never looked back. Mr. Duncan is proudest of Yankee Restorations’ Portsmouth Naval Shipyard project. The company worked on all the historical homes in the area, including the cabin house, which was the first house built on the base. In the coming years, he sees himself continuing to grow and strengthen Yankee restorations with the coming years. Since they have recently merged with a house building entity, constructing houses will be an additional part of their operations.
