Mr. Park has cultivated a career of excellence as a restaurateur, having founded several restaurants since 2013 in Champaign, Illinois. Serving as the owner and chief executive officer of each of his ventures, he founded Sakanaya in 2013, Miga in 2014, and NAYA Bar & Eatery in 2019. Originally from South Korea, Mr. Park has a keen eye for Asian cuisine, but each of his business ventures offers something different for customers to enjoy. To wit, they were all recognized by Smile Politely in 2019 in the Top 10 Best New Restaurants of the Decade. Smile Politely also named Mr. Park as the Restaurateur of the Decade.
As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Park pursued a formal education, completing business-oriented coursework at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In light of his fulfilling career, he attributes much of his success to his desire to always please his clients and customers. Furthermore, his father always served as a constant source of inspiration. He is notably proud to have maintained each of his restaurants throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In the coming years, Mr. Park hopes to continue opening restaurants in Champaign, Illinois, with new concepts.
