Marty Hollingshead, Founding Owner and President of Northlake Auto Recyclers Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in automotive recycling and entrepreneurship.
An experienced professional in automotive recycling and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) surplus supplies, Mr. Hollingshead has found success as the founding owner and president of Northlake Auto Recyclers Inc. since 1984. In 2009, he achieved Indiana Clean Yard – Gold Level Certification from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Prior to his current position, he worked as a mechanic and body man with A-Suburban Auto Wrecking.
Alongside his primary post, Mr. Hollingshead has been the president of the Automotive Recyclers Association since 2021. Between 2018 and 2019, he advanced from the position of secretary to the vice president in the organization. Mr. Hollingshead is also the co-founder of the Automotive Recyclers Association Peer to Peer Mentoring Program, which provides mentoring for auto recycling facility owners or managers who need help with daily business operations and business strategy.
At Northlake Auto Recyclers Inc., Mr. Hollingshead handles administration and management of the business, including purchasing, inventory, and payroll. He supervises more than 25 employees. Mr. Hollingshead has written numerous published industry-related articles and participated in the Fourth International Domestic and Worldwide Vehicles Recycling Practice and Experience Conference in Poland in 2019.
Mr. Hollingshead’s business has been recognized as one of the best recycling facilities in North America. Northlake Auto Recyclers Inc. is also a multiple-time highest-scoring automotive recycling facility in Indiana, holding this honor from 2014 to 2021. From 2009 to 2021, Mr. Hollingshead earned Gold Level Certification from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Indiana Clean Yard Program, and in 2020, the Better Business Bureau recognized him with a Business of Integrity Award. In 2018, he was the recipient of the Automotive Recyclers Association Recycler of the Year Award.
Mr. Hollingshead attributes his success to his leadership skills and the excellent work of his team. Alongside his employees, he has worked for and invested in the company for decades, and the business has survived both the COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturns. He takes pride in the security of employment he has been able to offer his employees over the years. In the coming years, Mr. Hollingshead aims to continue promoting the Automotive Recyclers Association while slowly winding down toward a well-deserved retirement.
