David C. Williams Jr., FSL, CFSP, the managing partner and owner at Rader Funeral Home, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Rader Funeral Home for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of mortuary services.
Having accrued more than four decades of valuable expertise in his chosen field, Mr. Williams has earned distinction as the managing partner and owner of the Rader Funeral Home, a funeral home based in Daleville, Virginia. First established in 1898, the company has distinguished itself across more than 120 years of continuous operation as the premier provider of funeral home, burial and cremation services on behalf of its local community. In his capacity as the owner of the funeral home, Mr. Williams is responsible for offering compassionate care on behalf of the families of the deceased, as well as making service arrangements and providing general administrative oversight of operations.
Adjacent to his work at the Rader Funeral Home, Mr. Williams has likewise served as an active mortuary officer with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team for Region V for over 20 years. In this role, he was deployed to San Juan, Puerto Rico, following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria in 2017.
Holding a background in grief counseling, with a particular emphasis on pregnancy loss, stillbirth and newborn deaths, Mr. Williams initially undertook coursework at both the Borromeo Seminary College of Ohio and at the University of Akron. Following this period, he graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1986. Eminently qualified in his field, he has extensively certified by the National Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards and the Academy of Funeral Service Practice, and has been licensed to practice mortuary service in both Virginia and Ohio. To remain aware of developments, Mr. Williams is also a member of the Blue Ridge Funeral Directors Association, the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association, and the Virginia Funeral Directors Association.
Among his most cherished accomplishments, Mr. Williams is most proud to have served as a mentor on behalf of several interns, many of whom went on to become excellent funeral directors in their own right. In accounting for his success, he largely credits his propensity for patience, as well as his status as a role model on behalf of his employees. Looking toward the future, Mr. Williams aspires to gradually retire from his responsibilities within the next several years, as well as ensure that the Rader Funeral Home remains a valued pillar of the community.
