Josh E. Lyford, Owner at H&C Land Management, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in logging.
Since 1997, Mr. Lyford has excelled as the owner and operator of H&C Land Management in Hadley, New York. Specializing in residential excavation and logging operations, he is a certified New York State logger and a longstanding member of the Empire State Forest Products Association. Mr. Lyford is proud to operate his company as a family business, which includes his wife, Michelle, and children, Carter and Hanna. He considers his most notable achievement has been bringing his family in to work with him, as it has created for a close-knit community among them and their additional staff members.
In the earlier years of his career, Mr. Lyford notably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1995 to 1997. Upon his suffering from a leg condition, he chose to leave the military and pursue a degree in the medical field. In 2003, he earned a registered nurse degree from Adirondack Community College, but ultimately found his way back to logging. Mr. Lyford recalls the mentorship from various industry professionals gave him the knowledge and confidence to spearhead his own business, and he has never looked back since. Looking ahead, he plans to get involved in further land development projects, building more homes with the quality of materials he works with daily. Mr. Lyford’s advice to aspiring members of his field is, “Throw your watches away. Do not pay attention to what time it is. Work until what you need done is done.”
