With years of professional and academic excellence to her credit, Ms. Leighton has found success as the chief executive officer and founder of Rileigh’s Rainbows, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that provides low-income students in the Monroe Township School District with free school supplies, since 2014 at the age of nine. In these positions, she has been able to provide free school supplies to more than 1,500 students in need since the inception of Rileigh’s Rainbows. During this time, she has been additionally active as a summer employee, ride operator and assistant attractions supervisor with Morey’s Piers and Water Parks between 2020 and 2022. Consistently drawn to serving her community, Ms. Leighton has contributed as a volunteer to the Challenger League and the Monroe Township Little League, and fondly recalls participating in events that helped the less fortunate as well as the unhoused.
To support her philanthropic ambitions, Ms. Leighton is currently pursuing an education in business administration and marketing as a residential student at Wagner College, where she is enrolled in the honors program and recruited as a member of the Wagner Women’s Golf Team. Having attained perfect attendance while attending Williamstown High School, she has been renowned as an accomplished athlete throughout her formative years, having been recognized as the Back-to-Back South Jersey Times Female Golfer of the Year, a Back-to-Back Tri-County Showcase Champion, the Winner of the South Jersey Girls Invitational and the Most Valuable Player of the Williamstown High School’s Girls Golf Team, to name only a few. Moreover, she has been presented with the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2018, 2021 and 2022, the 2022 Pride of the Lions Award, the New Jersey State Governor’s Jefferson Medal in 2021 after having been recognized as a honoree for the award in 2019, the 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Award and Points of Light in 2018 and 2020, among other stellar accolades. Continually inspired by her late grandparents, Ms. Leighton hopes to keep their legacy alive through her nonprofit accomplishments and aims to further carve out a career in marketing in the coming years.
